Disabling the option will not affect the options related to FLR from the Veeam console. From a backup perspective, nothing will have changed.

That might be your problem. I did submit a case and talked to Tech Support, he felt that the Guest Indexing should still work but he was going to double check. We did talk things through and we both felt that its an un-needed option for me as I am not utilizing some Enterprise function inside Veeam. So I am able to just turn it off for those two machines, and I will still be able to do Item level restores.

That was my issue mainly I had always thought that was how I was able to do Item level restores was by having that option turned on. Yeah, I do item level restores all the time without indexing. Thanks for all your help! If I use neither the vmware tools quiescence and do not have VSS writers to interface with can I still back up the running VM without hurting it?
