Rhinestone Application by Heat Press degrees for seconds med. Iron-On Tips Patches or appliques can be iron onto anything you can iron: shirts, jeans, hats, pants, skirts, backpacks, bags, etc.

Patches are also useful for hiding torn or damaged spots on your clothes and accessories. Do NOT apply patches to rayon, nylon or tri-acetate fabrics or any fabric that is heat sensitive. Once applied, patches are permanently attached to the fabrics and are washable. We recommend turning your clothing inside out and washing in cold water on delicate and by hanging to dry to preserve the longevity of your decor.

All of our patches come unless otherwise noted with a heat seal backing already applied. You need not take off the heat seal backing on the patch when applying with crafting glue. If one or more of the rhinestones in the design are stubborn, you can also use a high strength crafting glue with a toothpick to the back of the rhinestone and using tweezers.

Iron-on patches are a great way to express your style and individuality. What I have learned is that you really can't "over iron" them short of scorching your fabric. So the best approach is to start conservatively. Then increase temperature and time as needed. If you push a heated stone or stud with the iron, you also push the glue across your fabric and risk damaging the fabric and the glue.

Use a "press down - lift up" motion. Move your hand to the next position and repeat, slightly overlapping the previous position each time. Use more time, not more heat. If you have a random stubborn stone or two, you can use a fabric glue to secure them in their place.

I've had to resort to this in spite of using a heat seal machine - even with the most expensive motifs. What is nice about a heat seal machine is that as long as you maintain the vertical up and down motion and use the Teflon sheet or pressing cloth, you can generally use as much time as needed to be sure the glue melts into the fabric.
